Our entire life is magic. We’ve been practicing magic forever—we just haven’t been aware of it. When we dream of a better life, we plant creative-imaginative seeds in a holographic plane and later bring that reality into manifestation.
Magic is the art of altering reality through Will. “Lord, make me an instrument of Your Will!” This is one of the most beautiful prayers of alignment with Divine Will. It came to me at a difficult time in my life.
“HEE-YAH! DRAGON!”
The energy of the year needed to shift. The Chinese New Year had just passed. In the world of Qi Gong, following the Chinese energetic calendar, the governing direction for 2025 is the West.
It was no coincidence. In Hermeticism, the West belongs to the element of Water and the Archangel Gabriel, the patron of emotions, senses, and the subconscious world.
My Tao Master gave me a simple instruction:
“Walk toward the West. Twenty minutes. Wherever you stop, practice Qi Gong.”
I envisioned a dragon clearing all the karmic resistances of the year and opening all its gates—12 in total, just like the months of the year and the archetypes of the zodiac. So, I set off. There are walking Qi Gong forms, practices that, at their core, are pure magic—magic you can activate even during a simple walk. I worked with energy spheres vibrating softly between my palms, rotating them slowly, allowing Qi to flow through me, charging my body with the universe’s vital force.
Then a thought struck me: What if this method could remove energetic blockages from any situation? A simple yet powerful practice capable of opening paths where none seemed to exist. A tool you can use whenever you need clarity, quick solutions… or simply a walk through a magical place.
The Steps of Walking Magic:
- Identify what you want to achieve.
- Associate your goal with one of the elements (e.g., relationships → Water), then walk in the corresponding direction.
- Practice any energy work you know—pranayama, yoga posture, etc.—to seal the process.
The Four Directions and Their Energetic Associations:
- East – The plane of intellect & understanding
- West – The plane of emotions & relationships
- South – The plane of passion & action
- North – The plane of physicality & abundance
You can also align your practice with the elemental hours based on the zodiacal triplicities. Visualize a dragon walking ahead of you, breaking through any energetic barriers. I recommend walking for 21 minutes to honor the cycle of the Major Arcana—the completion of the Great Work. You can set an alarm beforehand to keep track of your ritual time.
